In Frankenstein I think atmosphere is the most important element. The atmosphere can really set the mood for any good story. If you have a horror or gothic novel the atmosphere is going to be dark and gloomy not all bright and happy. When Doctor Frankenstein brought the monster to life it was a dark and stormy night, not a calm night. The was a thunderstorm with pounding rain that did not let up. This is the atmosphere that is set up by marry Shelly to bring more fear to they reader. We also have the guts of dead animals and other dead parts of animals and humans making it very easy to get sick. Dr Frankenstein did in fact get very sick from these unclean working conditions and the dead animal remains. The atmosphere can really affect the setting and mood of the story which is why I choose it as the most important. http://mirchiz.deviantart.com/art/Gloomy-Night-63648505

marry shelly

if i had to create a ghost story i would start it off like marry shellys to an extenst. i would not put the leters at the begining because i am still confused on how they tie into the story completly. i would however give completet background that may take a couple chapters just like marry shellys. Frankenstein is very in depth when it comes to the background so the reader has an understanding that the doctor came from a weathy family and has been well educated. with this bacground I can understand his personality and how he thinks. This shows that he has had time to take an interest in education and not have to worry about financial struggles. I would start off my book like marry Shelly did and add all the detail as she did

Baseball time

On spring break I plan to play plenty of baseball. My coach does not care that it is spring break we still practice and play games. Baseball is something I have loved doing since before I can remember. So that's all I want to do this spring break is play baseball. It will be nice to relax from school and just  play the game. Plus with sleeping in there is no "I was tired" excuses, not that coach takes them either way. Most of my friends play baseball so I will be hanging with my friends and playing a sport I love.  Creating fun memories about spring break and about our shared love for baseball. This will truly make for a great spring break.

Invisibllity

If I could either fly or be invisible I would obviously pick invisibility. There is so much more I can do invisible then be flying. Not saying that flying is not cool, but I would rather remain unseen. If I was in trouble I could just disappear until that person calmed down a little bit. I also could sneak around and scare people who are not expecting for an invisible guy to be there. I would hold the door closed from the inside so people would think the door is closed. I could also sneak into movies and other places without people noticing, because they could not see me. I also could then call myself a ninja with my sneaking ability. Mr. Juarez would be completely jealous of my powers and be saddened. So I do believe invisibility would be better than the ability to fly.

Despeate measures...

When my brother got his license we would always go drifting in the snow. We took my dad's girlfriend (Tina) little 2006 Ford Escape. But this winter my brother had his own truck a 1999 Dodge Ram, which is a lot bigger than a little escape. So we went drifting in the parking lots and had a blast we had never hit anything. We even would go drifting down side streets and residential streets. We had just pulled out of the drift and straightened the truck out on the round doing about 50 mph when the breaks would not engage. My brother tried the emergency brake and the regular brake nothing would engage. Approaching 57 we had no brakes going about 50 mph down the street. My brother puts his seatbelt on and tells me to do the same. I did not know what he was going to to and neither do he. Until I spotted a snow pile left over from a plow. My brother slowed the truck down the eat he could by hitting all the unpacked snow in the road before we hit the mound. Something must have worked because the truck did not hit the mound hard,t did not even damage the front end. My brother calls my dad and he comes to get us. As he comes to get us my brother and I pushed the truck most the way out of the mound. When my dad gets there after scolding my brother for drifting on bad brakes and Tie rods he climbs in the truck. My brother drove my dad car home with myself riding shotgun and my dad drove my brothers truck home. My brother got new brake pads and tie rods and fixed his truck the next day.

Trust me

There have been multiple times people have had to trust me. I a the friend that people come to when they need advice or when they need someone to talk to. But there was this time I really had to convince someone to trust me. My friend was extremely upset about her family situation and everything going on in her lie. And I had to convince her that everything would come out alright, that she needed to stay strong. She was considering the worst alternative and that there was no way out. After a long talk almost 4 hours of constant texting and talking on the phone I finally got here to calm down enough that I was sure she would not harm herself. She now has learned to deal with the stress of life and find better alternatives. But she had to trust me that there were better options and that she could make it through what was going on.

essay

Now that we have talked about my struggles in class and with paying attention we can see how getting help has paid off. I now have a 76% average in biology because I finally accepted the help my teacher was trying to give me. My grades in almost every class improved because I was happy being at school, I use to just go because I had to and not care about my grades. I can look forward to getting my associates of science degree and put it toward nursing. I was in a happier state of mind outside of school as well because I did not think of it as a waste of time so I was happier at football, and at home. So accomplishing this at school also improved my social and personal life tremendously. Now I use these accomplishments to set goals higher so I can achieve greater things.

OGT

I feel least prepared for my science ogt test. I did terribly in the first grading period in science but my grade has gone up recently. I think with the break from sports I have been really able to focus on my academics but i still do not feel prepared. The main thing I can do to get ready for the OGT would be to study and get help the places i need it. Mr. Jaworski says that he is here early and willing to help us if we need it. I think i will come get help in plate tectonics. In truly don’t know anything about plate tectonics and that is not a good thing since they will be on the test. I will get the help I need then I will study and I believe I will do well on my OGT.

my weekend

The only thing out of the ordinary I did this weekend was watch football. I never watch NFL or NCAA football I only watched 2 football games all year. I watched the browns against the Steelers even though I am a ravens fan. I watched the game fully and complained about the bad coaching on the browns behalf. we then switch over and caught the last 2 minutes of the chargers chiefs game. then I bounced back and forth between a couple college football games. I never do this especially with my dad so it was nice.

what would i die for

I will fight and even die or my country. This country has given so much to my family and I. When my great grandfather came over from Germany he had nothing and when he came to America he was able to own his own saloon. This country is the land of opportunity to all people regardless of race, religion, ethnic back ground and sexual orientation. I cannot stand how solders come home from a war zone and are just pushed away like they do not belong in this country. They have made it possible for me to be allowed to sit here and type this post. I also cannot stand how people say they hate this country; you are free to leave at any time. I truly believe everyone should have an American flag in their front yard and be proud of this great nation

If I could go anywhere ....

If I could go anywhere in the whole entire world I would definitely go to the deserts in Nevada. There are a tremendous about of things I could do in the dessert. Most people want to go somewhere cool and tropical I would rather spend my time in the blazing sun there is so Much you can do in the desert. I can ride ATV's and shoot at long range targets. I love to ride ATVs, most people do not like them because they are "dangerous" but if I have a helmet on and know my limits then I will stay safe. I have ridden everything from 3-wheelers to dirt bikes. I also never have shot at a long range target so I would love the opportunity to try my skills down range. Almost all shooting ranges are just for pistols but in the desert you can pull out the bolt action rifles. The only major concern of mine would be dehydration and getting an extreme sun burn. if i could go anywhere in the world i would go to the desert in Nevada

Music is a neccsesity

I use music in everything I do it does not matter if I am cleaning my room or preparing for the game. Music is a part of everything I do. Music can affect my mood in a lot of ways it can get me hyped up for the game or calm me down after the game. Music is part of almost every athlete’s preparation. All the great athletes can be seen walking into the stadium with headphones on and music playing. I also use music to help me study. I put in my headphones and grab my book and read. I also listen to music when I am bored and need something to do. Music is a necessity in my life and I do not want to be without it.

If money were no object

If money were no object I would still join the United States Marine Corps. I believes I will protect and serve my country. After the military I would like to work on public housing programs specifically in the actual construction of the homes. Working with people or a team has always been a strong suit of mine and I also find that it helps get the job done so much quicker. I could do many things on this project because I already have experience in most of these areas. With my father I have done electrical, plumbing and roofing. We did all this renovating a house for my grandma to live in.  This will greatly help community because it will give low income families a home. These are funded by the government so money will not be Much of an issue.

My hobby

My favorite hobby has to be construction and repairs. I love building and fixing things. I can fix just about anything you give me and if I can not my dad can. He taught me how to build and fix things. I have worked on hundreds of projects with my dad. I helped my dad renovate a house that he bought for my grandmother to live in. I helped him to everything from the electrical in the house to the roof that was over her head. She only lived in that house for two years but we know the people who live there now and they have not had any problems with anything we fixed. I also love to work on cars, and trucks. I can do obviously change a tire, but I can also change the oil on almost a any type of car. On Father's Day when I was 12 I built a staircase to the attic for my dad.  He has taught me how to use every saw that we own everything from a Handsaw to a bandsaw. I love building and fixing things

papa

If I could change anything in my life, I would bring papa back. He was my dad’s father and born in 1924. His name was William “Bill” Rosenkoetter and he was a WWII veteran. We were as close as you would expect any grandson and grandfather to be. I would crawl into his lap and just listen to his stories for hour’s upon hours. He would just talk about the war and things he had done in his life. He owned his own business until he retired and was the best with a hammer and a 2 by 4. The man could build anything out of wood, but forget ever working on a car. From the stories I heard he never looked so proud of my father until he held me for the first time after I was born. He died when I was only 5 years old but he has forever changed my life on a daily basis, I look at his military flag every day.  The only thing that him being alive still would change is I would still have a grandfather that was alive and he would have taught me everything he possibly could of about everything he could.

my place

My favorite place in the whole wide world has to be a football field. Football has been there through the hard time and the good. I have only been playing football for 4 years but this is my sport the sport I prosper at the most. I don’t know what about football gets me it might be the Friday Night Lights it could be the tackling and analyzing that has to happen in a split second that could change the outcome of the entire game. I just love being able to prove to myself  and my city that I am better than the guy across from me and I can dominate him. What most people do not realize is that football is a science, studying the film before the game learning there plays, to keying the best guys on their team and making sure they do not touch the football ever. Football is my escape from all the other pressures of life.

summer

One of the most interesting things I did this summer was probably going to the state championships for baseball. I was part of the Sheffield Venom; I was the only fourteen year old to be playing with sixteen year olds. Before I joined the team they were undefeated and had won the state championship the year before but that was in the 14u league. Now that I joined the team and most the players were 16 they moved up to the 16u league.  I was recruited to play for this team because of my hitting ability, catching skills, and my fielding abilities at first and third base. The practices that we had were going great and we looked like one of the best teams around.  I saw some of the best pitching I have ever seen; curveballs that made 18u players just drop their jaw.  So we go through the season undefeated winning the country championship, the regional championship and now in the game for the state championship. It’s a tie game at the end of the 7th inning. (In 16u games you only play 7 innings usually.) So there we are at the end of regulation tied 2-2 and we head into extra innings. We scored 2 and they came back at us and scored two points in the bottom of the 7th inning. We were u [top bat at the top of the 8th inning and are haled so its 4-4 in the bottom of the 8th inning. They get 2 men on base one on second the other on third. A bigger kid who has been smashing the ball all night is up to bat with 2 outs. The first pitch is a curveball and the kid hits it over our right fielders head and both runs on base come into score and we lost the game.

rosenkoetter

Rosenkoetter is a German name that was brought over with my great grandfather. He owned a saloon in a quarry town in Quincy, Ill. He would cash the workers’ pay checks and only allow them to buy do much liquor and their wives would have to come pick up the rest of the check so he knew it got to their families.   If this was not done the minders would of drank more than a fish. They could outdrink any fish out there.
He son was a skilled carpenter who joined the United States Army during WWII. He fought from the beach head of Normandy, France all the way to Belgium. My grandfather ended up spending 9 months in the infirmary for frost bite and nearly lost both his feet. As far as my father and I know he was sent back into the war when he was cleared for active duty. He then had the privilege of playing trumpet for the Glen Miller Band on a USO tour. He was then returned to the US and given his honorable discharge papers.  He would go back to carpentry and bear 4 children 2 of his children were mentally handicapped. One child died at age 12 and his other would die at a much later age.
I like to believe I have contributed a lot of positive things to my family’s name in the short 14 years I have been around. I have been one of the youngest umpires on record to umpire a CVBA baseball game. I have had coaches come from all parts of town asking me to not only umpire there younger teams but play for their older teams.  I have been the first high school football player and the first voted team captain for baseball in my family. I have been an A, B student since kindergarten.  I am also the first to go to  college because I was accepted into the early college program.

If I have one rule that I live by it would be: to never quite or give into negative peer pressure. I see no point in giving into negative peer pressure or quitting. There have been times where everybody in the world has wanted to quit something that’s when we need to dig down deep and prove ourselves. Show the world that we have passion in what we are doing. Anybody can quit but if we persevere that shows the world that we have passion deep inside us and we will not back down from a challenge. My old wrestling coach use to drill into our heads “Mind over matter if you don’t mind it doesn’t matter.” This was drilled into our heads during practice and screamed at us during matches. My coach yelling this has actually helped me persevere through some of my toughest matches.
I also believe that it is stupid to give into negative peer pressure. If it goes against something I believe or do not want to do I do not do it. It is hard to remember that there is positive peer pressure as well. I have a friend who did not play football and I convinced him to play and now he starts varsity as a sophomore.
